Job summary

RTX seeks a Mechanical Engineer for the Materials and Process Engineering Department in Andover, MA. You will join a multi-disciplinary team to perform mechanical testing, support development, design, and failure analysis across a range of products.

You will collaborate with design and material engineers, review material specs, and develop test plans while coordinating multiple tasks to meet schedule requirements. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with instrumental lab equipment (Instron, hardness testers, SEM, polishers/grinders).
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a US security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assessing materials based on conformance to specifications.
• Assessing parts and hardware based on conformance to design requirements.
• Developing and fabricating test plans and test setups.
• Reviewing material documentation and assessment of specifications.
• Engagement with subject matter experts and suppliers.
