Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I for its Space Structures Complex in Middle River, MD. You will develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for Neutron launch vehicle hardware and ground support tooling.

Required is a BS in engineering, space hardware experience, and proficiency with 3D CAD. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration and building scalable, repeatable processes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS in industrial, mechanical, or aerospace engineering required.
• Experience building and testing hardware for space launch vehicles or similar aerospace/defense hardware.
• Demonstrated ability to model with 3D CAD, produce prints, and work with large assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute the build and integration of Neutron and associated flight hardware.
• Develop con-ops, design, and drive build of ground support tooling and processes for handling components and large assemblies.
• Develop build methods to increase throughput and reduce errors.
• Support integration engineers in day-to-day vehicle integration, fluid system, avionics, and AFTS activities.
• Develop and refine inspection, repair/retrofit, assembly, and system test procedures.
• Create clear work instructions to communicate between engineering and technicians.
