Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Redmond is seeking an RFIC Layout Designer to work on advanced silicon projects. This role involves collaborating with integrated circuit designers to define chip layouts, performing complex IC design tasks, and applying strong analog layout skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering and 1+ years of professional experience as an IC layout designer; OR 3+ years of professional experience in integrated circuit layout design in lieu of a degree.
• Understanding of layout considerations for device matching, coupling, and noise isolation.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Determine chip floor plan and strategies for power distribution.
• Estimate schedule for layout work and identify complexities early.
• Perform layout of custom RF and analog circuit blocks.
• Ensure design and electrical rule checks are performed.
• Conduct top-level layout integration and perform final tape out.

Skills

Strong analog layout skills

Experience in advanced node IC layouts (22nm, 16nm, 7nm, 5nm or below)

Experience in layout of circuits with frequencies up to 50GHz

Experience in layout of sensitive RF blocks (low noise amplifiers, voltage controlled oscillators, mixers)

Experience with skill programming

Experience with shell scripting (Perl, Python)

Excellent communication skills

Education

Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering
