Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. You will work with mentors to apply engineering concepts, develop hardware concepts, and test designs to meet space-grade requirements.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, attend regular progress reviews, and participate in tech talks and networking events with other engineers and interns.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degree program in an Aerospace, Aeronautical, Astronautical, or Mechanical engineering discipline and have at least one semester of school remaining post internship.
• GPA of 3.0 or above.

Responsibilities

• Support the team as they develop new concepts and hardware.
• Build and test designs to ensure they withstand extreme space environments.
• Attend frequent 1:1’s with mentors and supervisors for progress updates.
• Engage in tech talks and network with interns and employees.
