Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, California invites 2027 summer interns to join manufacturing engineering. You will work with the design, production and quality teams to develop and qualify processes for rocket engines, gaining hands-on experience with advanced machinery and real hardware.

Ideal candidates are engineering, physics or math majors with at least one semester left, a GPA 3.0+, and 3+ months of applied engineering experience.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in an engineering, physics or math discipline and have at least one semester of school remaining post internship
• GPA of 3.0 or above
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable)
• GPA of 3.5 or above
• 6+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable)
• CAD/CAM experience
• FEA experience
• CNC, mills, lathes, and powered equipment experience
• GD&T experience
• 3D Printing experience

Responsibilities

• Work closely with a mentor and other engineers to apply knowledge and grow technical and professional skills
• Collaborate with a fast-paced team to apply engineering concepts to real challenges
• Attend regular 1:1s with mentors and supervisors to track progress and learning
• Participate in tech talks and intern networking events
