Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory is seeking engineering interns to join the Space Science Electronics group in Laurel, MD. You will work on space-flight instruments, helping design electronics and contributing to FPGA and embedded software development.

You will assemble, integrate and test hardware, conduct lab testing, and prepare design documentation while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and following established engineering processes.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in electrical, computer, software engineering or related field.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience through internship, research or project outside of coursework.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design of electronics for space flight instruments.
• Contribute to FPGA and embedded software development.
• Assemble, integrate, and test hardware and instrument subsystems.
• Conduct laboratory testing, debug hardware and software, verify performance.
• Prepare design documentation, test procedures, and presentations.
• Collaborate with engineers and scientists across disciplines.
• Present work and incorporate feedback from peers.
• Follow engineering processes and configuration management practices.
