Job summary

Amentum seeks a Cybersecurity Engineer to join the JETSII Contract supporting NASA deep-space exploration. The role focuses on threat modeling, risk-based assessments, and system security design across spacecraft software and networks.

Ideal candidates will communicate complex cybersecurity concepts to senior leaders, work with cross‑agency teams, and drive remediation and verification activities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 2–5 years of related experience.
• Experience with risk management frameworks and assessing cyber risk.
• Familiarity with NIST SP 800-53 controls and cybersecurity best practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cyber threat modeling and identify critical trust boundaries.
• Perform risk-based analyses and derive cyber threat implications.
• Develop briefing materials for senior leadership (SES level).
• Collaborate across agency and with industry for cyber operations on terrestrial and space assets.
• Provide engineering analysis for spacecraft systems, software, hardware, and cybersecurity.
