Job summary

Vast in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Business Development Analyst II to support large proposals and market research for satellite offerings. You will collaborate across capture, engineering, finance, and contracts to deliver high-quality materials and help grow our front-line BD capabilities.

This full-time exempt role requires 2-4+ years of relevant experience, comfort with AI tools, and the ability to travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• 2-4+ years in business development, sales operations, market/customer analysis, or related field.
• Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with multitasking across projects.
• Comfort using AI tools to support research and content development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with customers.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of large, complex proposals across capture, engineering, finance, and contracts.
• Own proposal sections, capability write-ups, or analyses end-to-end and flag risks early.
• Conduct research and analysis on prospects and customers, market positioning, and competitive landscape.
• Leverage AI-enabled tools to accelerate customer research, market analysis, and proposal development.
• Support day-to-day sales operations, including CRM hygiene and pipeline reporting.
• Represent Vast in customer-facing settings, calls, meetings, and industry events.
• Prepare briefing materials, capability decks, and customer-ready content with Marketing and Engineering.
• Track industry, program, and competitive developments relevant to Vast's Satellite business.
• Build and maintain organized customer and stakeholder databases and account status.
• Act as a hands-on utility player for the BD & Commercialization team to move the pipeline forward.
