Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Senior STL for the New Glenn actuation system in Washington. You will lead end-to-end actuation development, integration, and verification, coordinating with Avionics, G&C, and Test/Flight Operations to ensure system-level requirements are met.

You will drive power system analysis, schedules, and design trades, while maintaining strong relationships with senior leadership and contributing to a culture of technical excellence and safety in spaceflight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Electrical, Aerospace or Mechanical).
• 8+ years in systems engineering, integration or design of aerospace or automotive systems.
• Experience leading Electromechanical Actuation (EMA) systems, motor control, or high-power electrical systems.
• Strong systems engineering fundamentals: requirements, verification and integration.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams across electrical, software and mechanical domains.
• Ability to communicate with senior leadership and build positive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Act as the STL for end-to-end actuation system development, integration and verification.
• Lead system performance analysis and power budget management.
• Interface between G&C, Avionics, Component Design, Systems Eng., and Test/Flight Ops.
• Own IVT requirements, planning and acceptance criteria for actuated systems.
• Perform system-level design trades and fault-tolerance analyses of power and mechanical components.
• Coordinate schedules and technical plans across organizations to meet commitments.
• Drive design-to-cost initiatives and technology insertion within electromechanical systems.
