Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a highly experienced engineer to act as the Single Threaded Leader for the New Glenn actuation system. You will oversee end-to-end development, integration, and verification, coordinating with Avionics, G&C, and other teams to ensure system-level compliance and performance.

You will lead performance analyses, power budgeting, and IVT planning, driving architecture decisions, fault analysis, and design-to-cost improvements in electromechanical systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, integration, or design of complex aerospace or automotive systems.
• Experience leading EMA/actuation or high-power electrical systems development.
• Strong understanding of requirements development, verification, and system-level integration.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Single Threaded Leader for end-to-end actuation system development, integration, and verification.
• Lead system performance analysis and power budgets across the vehicle.
• Interface between G&C, Avionics, Component Design, Systems Engineering, and Test/Flight Ops.
• Own IVT requirements, planning, and acceptance criteria for actuated systems.
• Conduct system-level design trades, architecture studies, and fault tolerance analysis for power and mechanical components.
• Coordinate schedules and technical plans across organizations to meet commitments.
• Drive design-to-cost initiatives and technology insertion in electromechanical systems.
