Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced engineering leader to integrate the configuration and interfaces for the New Glenn launch vehicle, coordinating with assembly, transport, launch pad, and recovery operations.

You will guide subsystem packaging, interface control, and change management to enable safe, repeatable spaceflight. A senior engineer background and U.S. work authorization are required.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in engineering and at least 10 years of experience in the development and packaging of aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures.
  • Demonstrated configuration control experience on recently developed aircraft or launch vehicles from early trade studies through final design and into manufacturing and test
  • Strong design and integration skills using 3-D CAD software and visualization tools
  • Demonstrated knowledge of scheduling and planning principles and tools
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Good judgment and flexibility. Driven to achieve results

Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall physical integration and packaging of subsystems.
  • Define and manage interfaces using interface control documents and interface control models.
  • Coordinate configuration reviews addressing program level interfaces, subsystem functionality, assembly, and operations.
  • Facilitate and resolve integration and development issues between engineering teams.
  • Lead cross-functional trade and impact studies to assist in development of formal changes and overall coordination of changes.
  • Provide technical assistance to integration and testing activities.
  • Develop and maintain an Integrated Launch Vehicle End Item Engineering Bill of Materials.
  • Ensure that the configuration supports major design reviews and integration milestones.
  • Ensure the team adheres to the configuration management best practices as well as Blue Origin configuration management standards.
  • Create and manage Engineering Change Requests to support Integrated Launch Vehicle interfaces, integration, and configuration control.
