Reporting directly to the Spa Director, the Spa Manager is vital in delivering exceptional wellness experiences at the Spa at Inn at Bay Harbor. This position combines spa treatment expertise with operational leadership to ensure the highest service standards across spa, nail salon, and fitness facilities.

Responsibilities

Operations Management:

- Lead daily spa operations including scheduling, inventory management, and maintenance of retail boutique, relaxation and locker areas, treatment rooms, nail salon, and fitness facilities

- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation protocols across all wellness areas

- Retail support- assist with retail merchandising, training, help monitor and maintain product inventory levels, and place orders as needed

- Oversee appointment scheduling, booking systems, and guest flow

- Manage facility maintenance and cleanliness standards

-Coordinate group bookings and events

-Assist in Wellness Events

-Any additional tasks assigned by Spa Director

Team Leadership:

- Supervise and mentor a diverse team including spa concierge, massage therapists, aestheticians, nail technicians, and fitness instructors

- Coordinate staff scheduling to ensure optimal coverage across all services

- Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions to maintain service standards

- Participate in recruitment, training, and performance management

- Foster a positive work environment that promotes team collaboration and growth

Service Delivery:

- Maintain expertise in spa treatments and services and schedule and coordinate training for technicians

- Ensure consistent delivery of signature treatments and services

- Handle guest concerns and feedback professionally and efficiently

- Monitor and maintain service quality standards across all departments

Financial Management:

- Work with Spa Director to achieve revenue goals and manage expenses

- Monitor retail sales performance and implement strategies to increase revenue

- Assist in budget planning and cost control measures

- Track and analyze key performance metrics

-Assist the Director with Payroll


Qualifications

Required:

- 5+ years of spa industry or hospitality experience, including 3+ years in management

- Proven track record of team leadership and development

- Strong understanding of spa or resort operations, including scheduling systems and inventory management

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Experience with spa management software or other similar departmental software

- Knowledge of luxury hospitality standards and guest service excellence

Preferred:

- Experience in Hospitality Management or related field

- Experience in a luxury resort or hotel spa environment

- Knowledge of fitness facility operations and programming

- Experience with revenue management and budgeting

Physical Requirements

- Standing for extended periods

- Lifting up to 25 pounds

- Moving between multiple facility areas throughout the day

Work Environment

- Luxury resort setting in Northern Michigan

- Full-time position with weekend and holiday availability required

- Fast-paced, service-oriented environment

- Climate-controlled indoor environment
