Job summary

Carolina Handling is seeking a Market Development Manager to expand opportunities across the Southeast. You will identify early-stage prospects, build strategic market intelligence, and cultivate influential industry relationships with sales, operations, and marketing.

This role requires coordination with economic development entities, developers, brokers, and site selectors to grow Carolina Handling’s presence.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in business development, economic development, commercial real estate, or closely related field.
• Strong understanding of the Southeast industrial real estate market and ecosystem.
• Proficient in MS Office products including MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with economic development organizations across five states.
• Develop preferred-partner relationships with top industrial real estate developers and brokers.
• Establish connections with leading industrial general contractors in the territory.
• Engage site selectors and location consultants advising companies choosing Southeast locations.
• Monitor permit activity, track job postings, and follow site selection news.
• Maintain a BD pipeline with 20+ qualified opportunities and deliver weekly updates.
