Job summary

Selby Jennings, a leading global investment advisory and portfolio solutions firm, seeks an experienced business development professional to drive growth across the Southeast region and expand market presence among institutional and private investor channels.

You will identify opportunities, build relationships, and collaborate with internal teams to support expansion while maintaining a strong pipeline and CRM-driven progress reporting. Willingness to travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or professional designation preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in business development, institutional sales, relationship management, consulting, or investment services.
• Proven success sourcing opportunities and managing complex sales cycles in financial services.
• Familiarity with institutional investor markets or private client segments.
• Existing professional network in the Southeast region is desirable.
• Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue prospective clients across investor segments, including foundations, endowments, pension plans, family offices, healthcare organizations, and high-net-worth investors.
• Create and maintain a healthy pipeline by sourcing, qualifying, and advancing prospects through the sales process.
• Develop strategic plans to increase market penetration and drive long-term growth in the territory.
• Understand client needs and communicate the value of advisory and investment capabilities.
• Cultivate a network of contacts to generate introductions and referrals in the region.
• Represent the firm at conferences, industry meetings, and events to enhance brand awareness and leads.
• Collaborate with investment professionals and client-facing teams to support prospect engagement.
• Maintain detailed records of prospect activity and sales progress in CRM systems.
• Track performance metrics and provide pipeline updates, forecasting, and market intelligence to senior leadership.
