Job summary

The Cypress of Charlotte in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our upscale culinary team. This role offers a chance to lead a high-performing kitchen in a resort-style senior living community, creating innovative menus and delivering exceptional dining experiences to residents and guests.

You'll work with an experienced leadership team, supervise daily operations, ensure quality and safety, and contribute to professional growth.

Qualifications

Two to three years of supervisory experience in a hotel, restaurant, or club with fine dining.
Culinary education is highly desirable.
Must be ServSafe Certified.
Ability to plan and organize work, read instructions, and follow recipes.
English communication skills required.

Responsibilities

Assist in leading daily kitchen operations and supervise culinary team members.
Oversee kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Chef.
Ensure menu items meet quality, presentation, and portion standards.
Support menu development, food costing, purchasing, inventory, and production planning.
Coordinate catered events and daily service execution.
Maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment meeting health department standards.
Monitor performance and communicate improvements to leadership.
Foster a positive team culture and collaboration.
Promote resident and guest satisfaction through hospitality and culinary excellence.
Ensure compliance with food safety and workplace safety standards.
