Job summary

The Cypress of Charlotte is seeking a skilled Cook to join our upscale culinary team at a vibrant senior living community in Charlotte, NC. This full-time role offers a sign-on bonus and a schedule that covers mornings to evenings with weekend shifts.

You will work across kitchen stations, follow standardized recipes, and ensure high-quality meals while delivering exceptional hospitality and guest experiences.

Qualifications

• A minimum of three years’ experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, club or similar institution.
• SERVSafe Certification preferred.
• Experience in hospital or senior living preferred.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic and understand measurements and conversions.
• Ability to plan and organize work, to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications and standards.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance. Some knowledge of nutrition and diet.
• Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Ability to work all stations in the kitchen.
• Efficiently runs assigned station during the shift, follow all specs, and stock food as needed.
• Maintains the quality of food and plate presentation.
• Prepares all soups, stocks, sauces; boils, braises and roasts items as per standardized recipes.
• Prepares and serves all sautéed, fried, grilled, steamed and baked items as per standardized recipes.
• Prepares or directs the preparation of all food served, following standard recipes and special diet orders. Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours, so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food is preserved.
• Determines amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus and seeing that supplies are obtained from storage areas in adequate time for meal production.

Position: Cook - SIGN ON BONUS

Schedule: Full-Time, must be flexible to work the following shifts:

• Monday - Saturday: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm & 12:30 pm - 9:00 pm
• Sundays: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm
• Ability to work weekends is required

Pay: $20.00 - $22.51 per hour + $1,500 SIGN ON BONUS!
