Eataly SoHo in New York is seeking a sous chef for a full-time, hands-on role in a busy Italian kitchen. The position supports the Head Chef and oversees production, quality, and daily kitchen operations.

Expect to balance cooking, prep, and team leadership with a focus on cost control, sanitation, and adherence to health standards. Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts are part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• 3+ years back-of-house experience, including 1+ year in management.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Good knife work and cooking fundamentals.
• Proficiency with inventory, menu planning and basic POS/computer skills.

Responsabilités

• Supervise production of authentic Italian dishes.
• Work with Head Chef on kitchen staff management.
• Handle menu planning, food production, inventory, and purchasing.
• Watch food and labor costs, budgets, and profitability.
• Keep service, safety, sanitation, and Department of Health standards tight.
