Job summary

Flik Independent School Dining at Hopkins School in New Haven, CT seeks a full-time Sous Chef to support executive kitchen operations and ensure high-quality meal production. Qualifications

• Previous 2 years of high volume kitchen/production experience required.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards.
• Supervises hourly food service associates, including scheduling, training, and reviews.
• Stores food in designated areas following food safety procedures.
• Ensures proper food handling, presentation, and temperature control.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils; cleans workstation before leaving.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Explains daily menu items to associates and customers.
• Monitors peak production and service hours.
• Tracks inventory, production, and waste; informs supervisor when supplies are low.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
