Job summary

Flik Independent School Dining in Concord, MA is hiring a full-time Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef, coordinate cooks and food-service staff, and ensure timely production at Middlesex School.

The position offers a pay range of $28.00–$30.00 per hour, with a full-time schedule and hours that may vary. Previous kitchen experience is required, and applications are accepted online. Free meals and uniforms are provided at select locations.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards.
• Supervises hourly food service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, participating in reviews and recommending disciplinary action, as appropriate.
• Stores food in designated areas following all corporate, state and federal food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils; cleans workstation before leaving area.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service‑oriented manner.
• Explains daily menu items to associates and customers.
• Keeps up with peak production and service hours.
• Monitors inventory and deliveries; tracks production, consumption and waste.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
