We are hiring immediately for full-time SOUS CHEF positions.

Location: Everest Academy - 5935 Clarkston Road, Clarkston, MI 48348. Note: online applications accepted only.

Requirement: Prior culinary experience preferred.

Pay Range: $20.00 to $23.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: Assists the Executive Chef in preparing and cooking foods. Coordinates activities of cooks and food-service associates. Takes responsibility in the absence of the Executive Chef.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Cook and prepare food according to recipes and standards, meeting deadlines.
  • Supervise hourly staff, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, reviews, and disciplinary actions.
  • Store food safely following all safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures.
  • Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies, and workstations.
  • Interact with customers to resolve complaints professionally and relay information to supervisors.
  • Understand and explain menu items to staff and customers.
  • Manage peak production and service hours effectively.
  • Monitor inventory, deliveries, and track production, consumption, and waste.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
