Job Description

Forefront Healthcare is seeking a passionate leader for the position of Travelling Sous Chef (PRN). This role involves traveling within Georgia and potentially other states.

We require a candidate with a strong culinary background and proven leadership skills. The facility is a behavioral hospital.

Essential Functions:
  • Coordinate food preparation and meal service.
  • Plan and initiate cooking schedules to meet meal times.
  • Prepare, season, cook, and serve meals, ensuring proper portioning.
  • Prepare nutritional snacks as directed by the Dietary Manager.
  • Collaborate with Dining Management on special events and menus.
  • Monitor food temperatures to meet safety standards.
  • Inspect food products and supplies upon delivery in the absence of the Dietary Manager.
  • Determine food and supply requirements daily.
  • Report needs and issues to the Dietary Manager.
  • Supervise dietary staff when necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas.
  • Adhere to federal, state, and facility regulations and policies.
  • Participate in educational programs.
  • Follow safety and emergency procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Ability to coach and lead kitchen staff and peers.
Physical Demands:

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Numerical skills for record keeping and recipe calculations.
  • Manual dexterity for food prep and equipment operation.
  • Willingness to perform routine tasks and work flexible hours.
Salary:

$250-285.00/day, expenses paid (airfare, hotel, food, etc.)

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
  • Proficiency in English.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary education and healthcare experience preferred.
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Serve Safe Certification.
