We are hiring immediately for full-time SOUS CHEF positions at Ann Arbor Public Schools.

Location

Job Summary

Assist the Executive Chef in food preparation and cooking. Coordinate activities of cooks and food-service staff. Take responsibility in the absence of the Executive Chef.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Cook and prepare food following recipes and standards, meeting deadlines.
2. Supervise food service staff, including interviewing, scheduling, training, and performance reviews.
3. Store food properly, following safety and sanitation procedures.
4. Ensure proper food handling, presentation, and temperature maintenance.
5. Maintain sanitation of equipment and workstations.
6. Interact with customers to resolve complaints and relay information to supervisors.
7. Understand and explain menu items to staff and customers.
8. Manage peak production and service hours.
9. Monitor inventory and supplies, and inform supervisors of low stock.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
