The Porch in Tempe is seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager/Sous Chef to support the Kitchen Manager, supervise back-of-house staff, and help elevate our menu with creative dishes.

You will lead kitchen operations, train team members, coordinate ordering, ensure sanitation, and maintain high quality and presentation while delivering fast, friendly service. Join a lively neighborhood spot with four locations, flexible hours, and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a cook, lead cook, or sous chef.
• Knowledge of sanitation procedures.
• Ability to supervise and train kitchen staff.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and assist the Kitchen Manager in supervising the back-of-the-house staff.
• Assist in hiring and training kitchen staff.
• Contribute to menu changes, recipes, and presentation.
• Place select orders.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized, and well-organized kitchen.
• Prepare workstations for cooking.
• Prepare and maintain kitchen equipment.
• Check the quality of ingredients.
• Prepare cooking ingredients using various techniques.
• Cook food using various culinary techniques.
• Arrange food and ensure appealing presentation.
• Manage food storage, stock, and ingredient orders.
