Job Title: Sous Chef at Cape Resorts

Position: Sous Chef

Reports To: Executive Chef

Position Overview: The Sous Chef is responsible, with the support of the Executive Chef, for the hiring, training, and scheduling of a team. The Sous Chef reports directly to the Executive Chef, who in turn reports to the General Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Accurate execution of all Beach Plum Farm functions and events.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and pre-shift huddles.
  • Maintain an accurate recipe database.
  • Conduct monthly inventories.
  • Ensure proper rotation of food and food products.
  • Develop seasonal menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
  • Plan and execute special menus.
  • Accurately and promptly cost all special event menus.
  • Work a flexible schedule, maintain composure in stressful situations, and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Demonstrate cooperative and supportive behavior with colleagues and supervisors at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef and General Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least three years of kitchen supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of five years of professional kitchen experience.
  • Farm-to-table experience preferred.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios.
