Job description

This role is part of the Procurement Services team which provides centralized sourcing, contract negotiation, purchasing, and vendor management functions for the entire WPS enterprise. The team also supports contracting for revenue-generating ventures and vendor-related business development. The role involves leading solicitations, requirements gathering, sourcing, and contract negotiation for IT and non-IT goods and services. Using established procurement processes and best practices, the role aims to execute competitive vendor contracts and optimize costs.

Salary Range

$75,000 - $95,000

The offered base pay may vary within this range based on experience and skills.

Work Location

This position is open to remote work in the following states: Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin.

In this role, you will:

Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, and Contracting (60%)

• Manage supplier selection via RFQ, RFI, and RFP processes, aligning requirements with business leaders and strategic plans.
• Lead contract review and approval to ensure business needs are met, collaborating with stakeholders and legal teams.
• Develop deep category knowledge and leverage industry experts and stakeholders to identify best practices.
• Drive competitive supply strategies to achieve cost savings and reduce total cost of ownership.
• Track and report on cost savings and cost avoidance.

Business Development and Relationship Management (20%)

• Handle sourcing and contracting for new ventures, supporting partnerships and product development.
• Participate in proposal development and contract negotiations alongside business development teams.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, legal, compliance, and suppliers.
• Manage customer expectations and influence stakeholder objectives, including senior leadership.

Supply Chain Risk Management (20%)

• Apply risk assessment methodologies to ensure supplier accountability.
• Manage contract portfolios, monitor performance, and implement corrective actions.
• Contribute to the deployment of vendor management systems and procedures.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, legal, or supply management.
• At least 1 year of procurement experience in IT categories.
• Knowledge of various contract types (FFP, Cost Plus, T&M).
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Proven leadership in cross-functional teams and cost improvement projects.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred experience:

• Experience with Deltek/CostPoint and SharePoint.
• Knowledge of FAR and federal contract standards.

Remote work requirements include:
