Job summary

Solomon Page is seeking a Freelance Sourcing Specialist to support product development and sourcing from concept through production and delivery in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role partners with cross-functional teams, vendors, and suppliers to ensure products are developed efficiently, cost-effectively, and delivered on schedule. 4 days onsite in NYC with Fridays remote and an hourly rate of $28.00–$32.00 based on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Experience in sourcing, merchandising, product development, retail, supply chain, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong retail math and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Support sourcing and product development activities within assigned product categories from concept through production and shipment.
• Assist the Sourcing team with execution of product development initiatives, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.
• Prepare and validate purchase order information, ensuring accuracy before submission to vendors.
• Support product costing analysis and gain understanding of cost components and pricing structures.
• Review, organize, and evaluate product samples to assess aesthetics, quality, materials, and finishes.
• Monitor milestone calendars and critical deadlines, proactively identifying risks and communicating updates to stakeholders.
• Partner with vendors and agents to help ensure timely production and on‑time delivery of shipments.
• Maintain awareness of industry trends, market developments, competitive products, and consumer preferences.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams and external business partners.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of value, quality, and pricing within the retail marketplace.
