Job summary

Solomon Page seeks an Assistant Merchandiser for Womens Apparel in New York City on a 4+ month contract with a hybrid on-site schedule (4-5 days in office). The role focuses on evolving the assortment plan, developing product briefs with designers, and maintaining accurate plans to drive margins.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in retail merchandising, buying, or equivalent experience
• Bachelor degree in Design, Merchandising, Retailing, or related areas
• Self-starter who brings passion, enthusiasm, and focus to their day to day business
• Flexibility and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Superior organizational skills with a sense of priority for deadlines
• highly detail oriented, meticulous, and analytical
• Ability to mentor, lead, and collaborate with cross functional teams to achieve goals
• An understanding of fashion garment production process
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Illustrator is a plus

• Create and maintain accurate assortment plan
• Communicate meeting recaps, design changes, margin challenges, and price adjustments to teams
• Collaborate with Product Development to meet target margins with cross-functional teams
• Manage all development milestone meeting preparation
• Collaborate with Marketing to develop quarterly social content concepts
• Track product performance analytics with the Senior Director of Merchandising
• Champion the seasonal development calendar and stay on track with priorities
• Foster collaborative relationships to promote best practices and teamwork

Job description

Our client, an iconic Global Lifestyle brand based in NYC is seeking an Assistant Merchandiser -Womens Apparel. This is an 4+ month contract. The company operates on a hybrid schedule depending on needs of business 4- 5 days onsite.

• Hourly pay rate up to $40.00.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for identifying, evolving, and executing the assortment plan
• Generate product concept briefs and work closely with designers to ensure prototypes are executed for the brand
• Responsible for creating and maintaining accurate assortment plan
• Communicate meeting recaps, design changes, margin challenges, and retail price adjustments to design & product development teams in a timely manner
• Collaborate with Product Development to ensure target margins are set / met with cross-functional teams
• Manage all development milestone meeting preparation
• Collaborate with Marketing to develop quarterly social content concepts and film content when applicable
• Track product performance analytics with the Senior Director of Merchandising
• Champion the seasonal development calendar ensuring adherence including the ongoing review and edit of the line to stay on track with strategic priorities
• Foster collaborative and effective relationships to promote best practices, process adherence and teamwork
