Job summary

The State of Maine Judicial Branch seeks a Corporal in the Office of Judicial Marshal Services to supervise Deputy Judicial Marshals when the Sergeant is unavailable. You will coordinate security for court days, supervise staffing, and assist with high-risk details while ensuring orderly proceedings and safety for judges, staff, jurors, and the public.

Candidates must have a high school diploma, 3+ years as a Deputy Judicial Marshal, and pass comprehensive background checks including polygraph.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school (or GED).
• Three years of full-time Deputy Judicial Marshal experience or equivalent.
• Background check including ALERT test, fingerprints, FBI clearance, medical/psychological review, and polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Deputy Judicial Marshals in the absence of the Sergeant.
• Plan, assign, and review work; manage security arrangements for court sessions.
• Oversee daily scheduling and deployment of deputies across locations.
• Assist with courtroom workflow and movement of evidence as required.
• Maintain entry screening and incident reporting; coordinate with law enforcement.
