Maine Judicial Branch is hiring a Deputy Judicial Marshal at the Penobscot Judicial Center in Bangor. The role involves securing courtrooms and ensuring safety for judges, staff, participants, and the public on a full-time schedule.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and successful completion of the Maine Criminal Justice Academy Pre-Service Training. Sponsorship is possible for candidates not yet certified, with ongoing mandatory training and firearms qualifications.

Qualifications

• Interpersonal and communication abilities to interact with judges, staff, attorneys and the public.
• Ability to stay composed and respond quickly in security situations.
• Commitment to ongoing annual training as required.

Responsabilités

• Provide court security and be strategically stationed during sessions.
• Enforce Maine law within the courthouse and monitor entry screening.
• Observe court attendees and assist with movement of paperwork and evidence.
• Patrol public areas and announce court sessions.
• Direct people to locations and provide schedules.
• Ensure parties are ready before judge enters.
