Job summary

Convergint is seeking a Solutions Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for large-scale RFPs, greenfield projects, and complex scopes. You will bridge gaps between entry-level estimators and senior professionals, taking ownership of medium-to-large opportunities with programmatic customers.

You will collaborate with sales, engineering, procurement, and project management to ensure estimates reflect costs, resources, and timelines, while identifying risks and value engineering

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in estimating, project management, or system design for electronic security (access control, CCTV, intrusion)
• Experience with large-scale RFPs, greenfield opportunities, and programmatic projects
• Ability to read and analyze construction documents, drawings, specifications, and technical scopes
• Proficiency in estimating software, Excel, and project collaboration tools
• Knowledge of materials, labor costs, and subcontractor coordination for physical security systems
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication for collaboration with teams, customers, and vendors

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, detailed cost estimates for large-scale RFPs, greenfield projects, and complex scopes including programmatic accounts.
• Bridge the gap between entry-level estimators and senior design/estimating professionals and take ownership of opportunities.
• Analyze project requirements, specifications, and technical documents to understand scope, risks, and deliverables.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, procurement, and project management to reflect costs, resources, and timelines.
• Source pricing from vendors, subcontractors, and partners to meet project specs.
• Mentor Solutions Estimator 1 team members on estimating tools, processes, and standards
• Identify scope gaps and value engineering opportunities to improve pricing and feasibility
• Prepare professional proposals with technical details, pricing, and justification
