Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Solutions Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for large-scale RFPs, greenfield projects, and complex scopes. You will bridge entry-level estimators with senior design and estimating professionals, taking ownership of medium-to-large opportunities with programmatic customers.

You will collaborate with sales, engineering, procurement, and project management to ensure estimates reflect costs, resources, and timelines, while identifying risks and value

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in estimating, project management, or system design for electronic security (access control, CCTV, intrusion).
• Experience with large-scale RFPs, greenfield opportunities, and programmatic customer projects.
• Strong understanding of vertical market requirements (healthcare, data centers, government, education, financial institutions).
• Ability to read and analyze construction documents, drawings, specifications, and technical scopes.
• Proficiency in estimating software, Excel, and project collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, detailed cost estimates for large-scale RFPs, greenfield projects, and complex scopes.
• Bridge the gap between entry-level estimating and senior professionals, taking ownership of opportunities.
• Analyze project requirements, specs, and technical documents to understand scope, risks, and deliverables.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, procurement, and project management to reflect accurate costs, resources, and timelines.
• Evaluate project scopes, interpret blueprints, analyze costs, and influence pricing and feasibility.
• Source pricing from vendors, subcontractors, and partners to meet project specs.
• Mentor junior team members on estimating tools, processes, and standards.
• Identify scope gaps, risks, and value engineering opportunities for innovative solutions.
• Prepare proposals with technical details, pricing, and justification for Convergint’s value proposition.
• Work with installation teams to ensure feasibility and accuracy of estimates.
• Apply industry regulations and compliance requirements.
• Track project costs, risks, and margins to optimize pricing strategies.
• Stay updated on security technology and product pricing.
• Ensure estimates align with company pricing strategies and market competitiveness.
• Assist in managing estimating process for programmatic and recurring customers.
