Job summary

Convergint is seeking a Solutions Estimator in North Charleston, SC to prepare accurate cost estimates for large-scale RFPs and complex scopes. You will bridge the gap between entry-level estimators and senior design teams, owning medium-to-large opportunities with programmatic customers.

You will analyze requirements, collaborate with sales, engineering, procurement, and project management, and source pricing from vendors to ensure feasibility and profitability.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in estimating, project management, or system design for physical security projects.
• Experience with large-scale RFPs, greenfield opportunities, and programmatic customer projects.
• Strong understanding of vertical market requirements (healthcare, data centers, government, education, finance).
• Ability to read and analyze construction documents, drawings, specifications, and technical scopes.
• Proficiency in estimating software, Excel, and project collaboration tools.
• Knowledge of materials, labor costs, and subcontractor coordination for physical security systems.
• Identify risks, recommend value engineering solutions, and ensure profitability goals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, detailed cost estimates for large-scale RFPs, greenfield projects, and complex scopes.
• Bridge the gap between entry-level estimators and senior design and estimating professionals, owning medium-to-large opportunities.
• Analyze project requirements, specifications, and technical documents to understand scope, risks, and deliverables.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, procurement, and project management to ensure accurate costs, resources, and timelines.
• Source pricing from vendors, subcontractors, and partners to meet project specs.
• Participate in site walks, pre-bid meetings, and technical discussions to assess needs.
• Track project costs, risks, and margins to optimize pricing strategies.
• Support others on large, strategic, or specialized projects.
