Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. in Lincoln, Nebraska invites an experienced Solutions Engineer II to join our NA Pre-Sales Team.

You will be a trusted technical advisor, translating customer needs into secure, scalable Akamai architectures and demonstrating value through proofs of concept and workshops. You’ll collaborate with Sales, Product, and Engineering, lead technical discovery, and help shape solutions across cloud, API, AI, and edge delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in relevant technical roles and a Bachelor's degree.
• Experience in customer-facing technology, solutions architecture, engineering, technical consulting, or pre-sales.
• Solid Internet and cloud fundamentals including DNS, HTTP(S), APIs, networking, and modern architectures.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.
• Familiarity with AI concepts and hands-on API/automation work is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery to understand customer initiatives and outcomes.
• Collaborate with Sales to develop technical strategies that create opportunities.
• Translate requirements into secure, scalable architectures using Akamai capabilities.
• Lead demonstrations, workshops, and Proofs of Concept to validate solutions.
