Akamai Technologies GmbH invites you to join our NA Pre-Sales Team as a Solutions Engineer II, collaborating with Fortune 100 customers to design scalable, secure architectures and drive successful deployments.

You will lead technical demos, CARs, POCs, and guide clients through Akamai's Web Application Firewall, API security, Bot Management, Zero Trust, and AI-enabled workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience and a related degree.
• Understand internet technologies: DNS, HTTP(S), APIs.
• Experience or interest in CDN, cybersecurity, AI, and DevOps.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams including Sales, Services and Product Management.

Responsibilities

• Create sales opportunities by managing the pre-sales technical process and demonstrating Akamai's technology.
• Manage the technical proposal process ensuring accurate technical information and recommendations.
• Turn customer goals into scalable, secure, high-performance architectures and drive deployments.
• Lead sales activities such as Technical Demos, CARs and POCs.
• Maximize customer satisfaction, retention, and growth based on business needs.
• Guide design and validation using Akamai's Web Application Firewall, API security, Bot Management and Zero Trust.
• Demonstrate integration of Akamai solutions with AI-driven workflows and modern DevOps tool chains.

In this role, you will be the customers' trusted advisor and technical expert. Collaborating with sales partners, you'll facilitate product adoption and account growth with a winning mindset for Akamai and our customers.

As a Solutions Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

• Creating sales opportunities by managing the pre-sales technical process and demonstrating Akamai's technology to customers.
• Managing the technical proposal process and ensuring all technical information and recommendations addressing customer requirements are accurate.
• Turning customer goals into scalable, secure, and high-performance architectures, driving successful deployments and industry-leading best practices.
• Leading sales activities such as Technical Demos, Customer Analysis Reports (CAR's) and Proof of Concepts (POC's).
• Maximizing customer satisfaction, retention, and growth based on the customer's needs and business requirements.
• Guiding customers through design and validation using Akamai's portfolio: Web Application Firewall, API security, Bot Management and Zero Trust solutions.
• Demonstrating how Akamai solutions integrate with AI-driven workflows, automation frameworks, and modern DevOps tool chains.
• Advising customers on safe and efficient adoption of AI-powered features within Akamai's platform.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 5yrs experience and a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or another related field.
• Demonstrate understanding of the internet, including but not limited to technologies like DNS, HTTP(S), APIs.
• Have experience or an interest in working with CDN architecture, Cybersecurity, AI, SEO, and Dev Ops.
• Have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills including communicating complex technical content to a range of audiences.
• Work fluidly within account teams, but also cross-functionally across organizations, such as Sales, Services, and Product Management.

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $100,700 - $181,300/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
