Job summary

IBM is seeking a Solutions Engineer to guide customers in adopting HashiCorp tooling—Terraform, Vault, Consul, Boundary—across infrastructure automation, security, and platform engineering. You will craft discovery, deliver compelling demos, and enable production deployments with cross-team collaboration.

The role emphasizes technical delivery, measurable adoption, and opportunities to expand value with evolving customer needs. Hybrid work in the SF Bay Area with national travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Solutions Engineer or similar.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into actionable solutions and communicate value clearly.
• Experience presenting concepts, demos, or evaluations to audiences with varied technical levels.
• Strong problem-solving skills and comfort with ambiguity and complex challenges.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with engineers and business stakeholders.
• Proven ability to build relationships, collaborate, and coordinate cross-team resources.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical and business discovery to understand challenges and value opportunities.
• Design and deliver technical presentations, demos, and POCs to prove fit and value.
• Guide onboarding and production deployments, coordinating with IBM specialists and stakeholders.
• Develop adoption plans, track milestones, and address barriers to usage.
• Identify opportunities to expand value with new capabilities and workflows.
• Educate customers through workshops and architecture reviews to build confidence.
