Job summary

IBM is seeking a Solutions Engineer to help customers modernize their technology environments by leveraging HashiCorp products like Terraform, Vault, Consul, and Boundary. You will drive technical discovery, deliver compelling demonstrations, and guide production deployments in a hybrid role based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Solutions Engineer or Sales Engineer.
• Ability to conduct effective technical discovery and translate requirements into actionable solutions.
• Experience presenting concepts, delivering demos, or guiding evaluations to diverse audiences.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity and complex challenges.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with engineers, architects and business stakeholders.
• Proven ability to build relationships and coordinate resources across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery engagements to understand customer challenges and map high-value use cases.
• Design and deliver technical demonstrations, proofs of concepts, and workshops.
• Guide customers through onboarding and production deployments with internal IBM specialists.
• Develop adoption plans with measurable milestones and monitor progress.
• Identify opportunities to expand value and introduce new capabilities.
• Educate customers through architecture reviews and hands-on guidance.
• Collaborate with sales, product teams, and customer success to drive outcomes.
• Own customer outcomes and coordinate resources to achieve success.
