Job summary

IBM is seeking a Solutions Engineer to help customers modernize infrastructure using HashiCorp tools like Terraform, Vault, Consul, and Boundary. You’ll work with clients in the San Francisco Bay Area and nationwide to design secure, scalable solutions.

You will lead discovery, deliver demonstrations and POCs, guide production deployments, and drive adoption and value realization. Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Solutions Engineering or similar.
• Ability to conduct effective technical discovery and translate requirements into solutions.
• Experience presenting concepts, demos, or guiding technical evaluations for varied audiences.
• Strong problem-solving skills with ability to navigate ambiguity and priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders.
• Proven ability to build relationships and coordinate resources across teams.
• Strong ownership and accountability for customer outcomes.
• Commitment to continuous learning and adapting to new technologies.
• Foundational understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure, cloud computing, or software delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical and business discovery engagements to understand customer challenges and goals.
• Design and deliver technical presentations, demos, POCs, and workshops to show value.
• Guide onboarding and production deployments, coordinating with IBM specialists and stakeholders.
• Develop adoption plans with measurable milestones and monitor progress.
• Identify opportunities to extend value with new capabilities and integrations.
• Educate customers through technical workshops and architecture reviews.
• Collaborate with sales, product teams, and customer success for successful outcomes.
• Own customer outcomes and coordinate resources to achieve success.
