Job summary

ONWARD SEARCH is seeking a Solution Architect, CRM & Digital Marketing for an on-site, temporary role based in the New York area. You will manage the Salesforce Marketing Cloud ecosystem, architect automation, and collaborate with multiple teams to drive customer engagement initiatives in streaming, subscription, and D2C domains.

You will maintain SFMC health, develop new automations and journeys, lead cross-team technical projects, and design scalable data models in partnership with data

Qualifications

• 5+ years as Solution Architect or senior CRM specialist with SFMC expertise.
• Mastery of Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Email Studio, Contact Builder, Data Extensions.
• Proficient in AMPScript and SQL; SSJS a plus.
• Experience with SFMC APIs and third-party integrations (CDPs, push, data warehouses).
• Strong planning, prioritization, and cross-team coordination; excellent communication.
• Knowledge of data modeling and segmentation at scale.
• Experience in streaming, subscription, or D2C sectors; SFMC certification desired.

Responsibilities

We're seeking a Solution Architect, CRM & Digital Marketing to support our client's team. This on-site, temp role is based in an environment focused on streaming, subscription, and D2C industries. The position involves managing the Salesforce Marketing Cloud ecosystem, architecting automation, and collaborating closely with multiple teams to drive customer engagement initiatives.

Solution Architect, CRM & Digital Marketing Responsibilities:

• Maintain optimal operational health of all SFMC campaigns, automations, and journeys by monitoring performance and resolving issues proactively.
• Develop and implement new automations, triggered journeys, and personalized experiences within SFMC using scripting languages.
• Lead technical project management by triaging requests, assessing technical feasibility, and managing delivery timelines across various teams.
• Design and uphold scalable data models in SFMC, ensuring data integrity and seamless flow in partnership with data engineering teams.
• Serve as the escalation point for integration issues with SFMC and external systems, supporting ongoing system connectivity and data exchange.

Solution Architect, CRM & Digital Marketing Qualifications:

• Over 5 years of experience as a Solution Architect or senior technical CRM specialist with extensive hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud expertise.
• Mastery across core SFMC modules including Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Email Studio, Contact Builder, and Data Extensions.
• Proven scripting proficiency in AMPScript and SQL, with working knowledge of SSJS considered a plus.
• Experience in working with SFMC APIs and integrating with third-party platforms like CDPs, push providers, and data warehouses.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan, and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; excellent communication skills are essential.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling and segmentation strategies at scale.
• Industry experience in streaming, subscription, or D2C sectors is preferred; SFMC certification is strongly desired.
