Job summary

The Keystone Distinction Group in Morris County, NJ is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer (SolidWorks) to design water and wastewater equipment and produce fabrication drawings. You will collaborate closely with the shop floor to refine plans and ensure builds match the design.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, 3–4 years of solid design experience, and proficient SolidWorks skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 3–4 years of mechanical design experience; standout candidates with less will be considered.
• Proficient in SolidWorks for design and fabrication drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with accurate, detail-oriented drawing work.
• Local to northern New Jersey and able to work fully onsite in Morris County; relocation not offered.
• Experience designing conveyors or similar fabricated equipment is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design water and wastewater equipment in SolidWorks and produce fabrication drawings.
• Determine how to build customer requirements, including new equipment concepts.
• Carry conveyor designs from requirements through released drawings.
• Visit fabrication shop to review plans and resolve build questions with fabricators.
• Prepare drawings for outside fabricators with required level of detail.
• Support the project engineer with the design workload for each order.
• Ensure details are correct before release so builds fit first time.
