City of Broken Arrow seeks a responsible Solid Waste Truck Driver to operate a collection truck on residential routes and manage loads of refuse and recyclables on a daily basis.
This safety-sensitive position is subject to random drug testing and requires a valid Oklahoma CDL, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to perform heavy physical tasks while interacting with customers on the route.

FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Under general supervision, operates a solid waste collection truck to collect and transport residential solid waste and recyclables.
Requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent, supplemented by one to three years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Requires possession of a valid CDL Driver's License issued by the State of Oklahoma.
Tasks involve the ability to exert exceptionally strong physical effort in very heavy work, typically involving some combination of balancing, climbing, crouching, feeling, handling, hearing, kneeling, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, talking, visual acuity, walking and which involves some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 150 pounds). Must submit to drug screening and DOT physical.

Each department establishes its own vacation scheduling procedures. Vacation cannot be used as the last day of employment.
