Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking a Solid Rocket Motor Manufacturing Engineer to oversee production of cutting-edge motors, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency. The role requires aerospace background, hands-on manufacturing experience, and strong cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities include designing processes, leading improvements, and mentoring technicians. The ideal candidate will have CAD and process-simulation skills and knowledge of relevant standards and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Materials Science, or related field.
• 3+ years in solid rocket motor manufacturing or related aerospace field.
• Strong understanding of solid rocket motor design, materials, and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for solid rocket motors.
• Oversee production, ensuring safety, quality, and performance standards.
• Collaborate with design, testing, and QA to integrate processes.
• Develop process control methods to monitor efficiency and consistency.
• Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigations to improve reliability.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Prepare and maintain detailed manufacturing documentation.
• Train and mentor technicians and junior engineers in best practices.
