Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to own AP milling and powder-handling processes for solid rocket motor production. You will lead processing improvements, cross-functional troubleshooting, and documentation to meet safety and production goals.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership on the manufacturing floor, defining critical parameters, and driving continuous improvement in a highly regulated environment.

Qualifications

• BS in an engineering discipline (manufacturing, mechanical, chemical, materials, aerospace).
• 6+ years in manufacturing/process engineering.
• Hands-on experience with powder or particulate materials in production.

Responsibilities

• Own AP milling and powder-handling processes; act as Process Owner.
• Troubleshoot on the production floor with technicians and engineers.
• Develop and maintain process docs: MPS, SOPs, Work Instructions.
• Define and monitor Critical Process Parameters for AP milling.
• Manage process changes via ECN, perform risk assessments and validation.
• Lead Lean/Six Sigma initiatives to reduce cycle time, scrap, and variability.
• Specify milling equipment and operating parameters; guide equipment selection.
• Design, develop, and qualify new manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Provide mentorship and promote best practices in process control.
