Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to design, analyze, and qualify solid rocket motor primary and secondary structures, integrating additive manufacturing considerations and high-rate production goals. You will support customers, review data, and guide cross-functional teams in a fast-paced defense environment.

The role requires a strong foundation in propulsion, thermodynamics, and structural mechanics, with experience in MS NX/Ansys and a Secret clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering; 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with rocket motors, solid propulsion elements, and structural interfaces.
• Proficiency with CAD/analysis tools and additive manufacturing considerations.

Responsibilities

• Design solid rocket motor primary and secondary structures per customer and industry specs.
• Lead additive manufacturing design efforts and high-rate production considerations.
• Review test data and guide design changes; mentor junior engineers.
