Job summary

Clearway Energy Group is seeking Solar Technician Trainee to support troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of solar PV systems. You will start under direct supervision, shadow experienced technicians, and advance through levels I–III by completing training milestones.

Roles progress from Trainee to Level III with increasing responsibilities in electrical/mechanical maintenance, safety compliance, and on-site operations across solar facilities. Some travel and flexible hours may be required.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED required, or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of employment.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Demonstrable mechanical aptitude; no prior electrical experience required.
• Able to safely work in a wide range of adverse climates and environments.
• Able to travel as required.
• Knowledge of and the ability to use various hand tools.
• Able to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Able to create, edit, or modify Microsoft Word and Excel documents.
• Ability to work overtime and non-standard hours (nights, holidays, weekends).
• Professionalism and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment under supervision.
• Shadow and assist experienced technicians with PV system maintenance.
• Maintain and organize hand tools and tool inventory.
• Operate and maintain a service vehicle.
• Work a flexible on-call schedule as needed.
• Learn under supervision and progress through training milestones.
• Pass advancement exams within six months of hire.
• Perform other duties within the Trainee scope.
