Job summary

Clearway Energy is hiring for a Solar Technician at multiple levels (Trainee, Level I, Level II, Level III) across U.S. locations. The role includes trouble-shooting, maintaining, servicing, and repairing solar PV systems and related equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Responsibilities scale with level, from hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting to complex PV plant operations. A safety-first mindset, willingness to learn, and ability to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or obtainable within 6 months.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Demonstrable mechanical aptitude; no prior electrical experience required.
• Willing to travel as needed.
• Able to work overtime and non‑standard hours.
• Able to read/write MS Word and Excel documents.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment under supervision.
• Shadow and assist experienced technicians in PV systems maintenance.
• Operate and maintain a service vehicle.
• Work a flexible on‑call schedule including weeknights, weekends, and holidays.
• Progress through Levels I-III via advancement exams within six months.
• Perform duties as assigned within each level scope.
