Job summary

Clearway Energy Group is seeking a Solar Technician in Lancaster, CA to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair solar PV systems and related equipment. The role progresses from Trainee through Level III with exams and on-the-job training, including night and weekend on-call work.

The position covers safety-focused maintenance, hands-on PV system work, and travel as needed. Compensation spans a wide range reflecting levels I–III, with opportunities to advance and gain certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or obtainable within 6 months.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Demonstrable mechanical aptitude; no prior electrical experience required.
• Able to work in varying climates and environments.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Ability to create/edit Word and Excel documents.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment under supervision.
• Shadow and assist experienced technicians with PV system maintenance.
• Operate and maintain a service vehicle.
• Work on a flexible on-call schedule including weeknights, weekends, and holidays.
• Progress through Trainee to Level III with required exams and timelines.
• Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on PV solar equipment as qualified.
