Job summary

Clearway Energy Group is seeking a Solar Technician to troubleshoot, maintain, service, and repair solar PV systems across assets in Newburgh NY, Shoreham NY, New London CT, and Bridgeport CT. Roles range from Trainee to Level III, with progression through exams within six months of hire and travel as needed.

You will follow safety procedures, shadow senior staff, operate a service vehicle, and work on a flexible on-call schedule; a strong willingness to learn and professionalism are essential.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED required, or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Mechanical aptitude with no prior electrical experience required for Trainee.
• Ability to travel as required and work overtime or non-standard hours when needed.
• Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment under supervision.
• Shadow and assist experienced technicians in PV system maintenance.
• Maintain hand tools and organize the work area.
• Operate and maintain a service vehicle.
• Work a flexible on‑call schedule, including weeknights, weekends and holidays.
• Progress through Level I–III with advancement exams within six months of hire.
• Perform duties across Level I, II and III that include troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
