Job summary

The AES Corporation is hiring a Solar Technician in Bakersfield, CA to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on utility-scale solar plants. You will work with inverters, trackers, PV modules, and associated DC/AC systems, ensuring safety and reliability across the site.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on electrical experience, familiarity with SCADA/CMMS, and the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with electrical systems and basic safety principles (LOTO, Electrical Safety).
• Proficient with standard business software; familiarity with SCADA and CMMS is a plus.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional, diverse organization and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance on solar PV sites and related equipment.
• Execute switching and clearance orders; operate power plant systems.
• Assist with site vegetation management and document procedures and operating instructions.
