Job summary

AES CE, based in Lancaster, CA, seeks a seasoned Solar Technician to operate and maintain a growing PV portfolio to industry-best standards. The role emphasizes self-starting leadership, training and mentoring field personnel, with opportunities for professional growth as AES expands in the IPP space.

The candidate will perform maintenance, safety-focused duties, and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring reliable power facility operation in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 2 year technical degree or equivalent Journeyman qualifications.
• Three (3) or more years’ experience as a PV O&M solar technician.
• Five (5) or more years’ experience in a power plant and one (1) or more years’ experience in PV Solar O&M or construction.
• Demonstrated knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals (single craft journeyman skills).
• Basic knowledge of operational characteristics of equipment and control devices installed in power facilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance and operations for equipment including EPC inverters, batteries, Fluence Interface, Sungrow Inverters, and related systems.
• Performs other technical and administrative duties associated with operating and maintaining a power facility.
• Ensures work complies with Environmental and Safety requirements.
