A Day in the Life of a Solar Technician I

Support project performance through preventive & corrective maintenance, collaborate with team members to address site issues, manage contractors, and ensure safety procedures are followed. This role is based in Oak Ridge, Louisiana, with occasional travel.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Assisting with troubleshooting and maintenance of PV sites.
  2. Supporting safety and environmental compliance.
  3. Identifying opportunities for process improvements.
  4. Supporting warranty claims and inventory management.
  5. Adhering to safety standards and documentation requirements.
  6. Participating in training and emergency response as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience with electrical systems, PV solar systems, and substations.
  • Familiarity with safety standards like OSHA and NFPA 70E.
  • Computer skills including CMMS, DAS/SCADA, and MS Office.
  • Residence within 45 minutes of Oak Ridge, Louisiana.
  • Certifications such as NFPA 70E and OSHA 30 preferred.
  • Educational background in a related field is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and a safety-oriented mindset.
Work Environment
  • Working around energized equipment and hazardous materials.
  • Occasional lifting and non-standard hours.
  • Outdoor work in varying temperatures and heights.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain TWIC card.
